Update: Sep 16, 2015
The Viet Nam and Czech Societies of Travel Agents signed a cooperation agreement on boosting tourism and friendship on September 14th.

According to Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Viet Nam Society of Travel Agents (VISTA), the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic was recognized as the country’s ethnic minority group. This is a good foundation for further development of the two societies’ friendly ties in the future.

“The matter is that the two societies should step up their activities to speed up the exchanges of tourists between the two countries”, Binh said.

Binh also held that the Government of Viet Nam is doing a lot to attract more tourists from the Czech Republic and other Eastern European countries. He hoped that the visa exemption for Czech citizens to Vietnam would shortly be introduced, and the Czech Republic would create favourable conditions for Vietnamese tourists.

At the signing ceremony, the Czech Republic Ambassador to Viet Nam Martin Klepetko held that during his three years working in Viet Nam, he has visited many places throughout the country and is deeply impressed by Phong Nha-Ke Bang cave system in Quang Binh province. He also wished to explore Son Doong, the world’s largest cave which is situated in Viet Nam.

The ambassador also emphasized that Czech citizens love traveling and exploring places where few people have set foot before.
