Location: Nodol Pagoda, also called Co (Stork) or Giong Lon Pagoda, belongs to Giong Lon Hamlet, Dai An Commune, Tra Cu District, about 40km to the South of Tra Vinh City.
Characteristics: It is an ancient pagoda built in old Khmer architectural style.
This big ancient pagoda is surrounded by ranges of trees, possessing typical Khmer architecture with gate, sanctum, towers, dormitory, halls, etc.
The sanctum area impresses visitors with curved roofs like dragons’ tails; pinnacles shaped as mountain Xome; and statues of Riehu, four-face God Mohabrom, divine birds Krud, etc.
The pagoda is also called Co (Stork) Pagoda by the locals since the pagoda is home to thousands of birds, of which the majority are storks. The attraction of this pagoda is a part from the appearance of stork as well as pristine natural landscapes.
