On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong’s Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025), the Hai Phong City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with Vietnam Railways, is preparing to launch a luxury tourist train named Red Flamboyant flowers, a new symbol of railway tourism, connecting the two major cities of Ha Noi and Hai Phong through a classy and stylish journey.

The Red Flamboyant flowers train is set to become a new cultural and tourism highlight on the Ha Noi - Hai Phong railway line.
The train consists of 20 brand-new carriages, featuring a modern and well-equipped design. Among them, two VIP carriages are a particular highlight, designed in the Indochine style, a harmonious combination of classic Eastern elegance and Western luxury.

Interior design of the VIP carriage
The interior of the VIP carriages uses natural wooden flooring and high-grade wood-grain PVC Nano wall panels, creating a cosy and elegant atmosphere. Single and long sofas are arranged into three separate areas, offering both privacy and convenience for conversation, enjoying coffee, and watching the scenery.
The ceiling of the VIP carriages features a stepped design, delicately decorated with floral fabric and combined with a system of LED strip lighting and artistic table lamps, creating a shimmering and luxurious space resembling a miniature royal train cabin. Inside, there is also a small bar serving coffee and beverages, with live musicians performing to provide passengers with a unique experience. The wide windows, with fabric curtains that open to both sides, allow visitors to easily view the northern Vietnamese countryside and the port city of Hai Phong as they pass by.

The remaining 18 carriages of the Red Flamboyant flowers train are equipped with 56 rotatable seats.
Equally impressive, the remaining 18 carriages are fitted with 56 rotatable seats each, vinyl-tiled floors, faux-marble-patterned plastic wall panels, and ceilings adorned with decorative LED lighting. Every seat is equipped with a personal reading light, power socket, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioning, fully meeting the entertainment, work, and rest needs of passengers during the more-than-two-hour journey.

The train is painted in the signature red colour of flamboyant flowers
The train’s exterior is strikingly designed in three main colours, including blue, white, and red, inspired by the flamboyant blossoms that are symbolic of Hai Phong City.
The harmonious combination of modern design and local identity makes the train not only a means of transport but also a new cultural and tourism highlight on the Ha Noi - Hai Phong railway route.

The ceiling features a stepped design with a delicately decorated floral fabric and an LED strip lighting system.
The luxury train on the Ha Noi - Hai Phong route is expected to be priced at around 320,000 - 350,000 VND per ticket.

The two VIP carriages are luxuriously and modernly designed.
According to Ms Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Hai Phong City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the luxury train is scheduled to launch on May 10, to mark the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong’s Liberation Day. “We hope this will be a unique railway tourism product, contributing to diversifying options for tourists while offering new and exciting experiences that allow them to discover Hai Phong from a different and more engaging perspective,” she said.
