International visitors at the newly-opened museum

Covering nearly 1,500 m2, the museum aims to honour unicorn, lion and dragon dances, a traditional folk performance deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture.

The opening of the museum promises to bring unique and interesting cultural experiences as well as promote this art form closer to domestic and foreign tourists.

Visitors to the museum have a chance to explore the distinct unicorn, lion and dragon dances across Northern, Central, and Southern regions.

The northern section conveys simplicity and solemnity. The central section highlights the image of the celestial dog, a spiritual symbol in Hoi An. Meanwhile, the southern section dazzles with vibrant colours and diverse performance forms.

Additionally, they can also engage in such interactive activities as mask painting, shopping for souvenirs, and exploring contemporary cultural exhibitions.

Sharing about the idea of establishing the museum, Mr. Nguyen Lam An, Director of Sun World Ba Na Hills, said that the museum has been nurtured for a long time with the desire to contribute a small part to advertise traditional Vietnamese culture closer to tourists at both home and abroad.

He highlighted the special significance of the launch of the museum on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival because this is the time when the art of the lion and dances is most deeply present in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people.

“We hope that the museum will become an attractive experiential space, where cultural memories are told in a contemporary, familiar and inspiring language” he emphasized.
