The central province of Thanh Hoa greeted 4.7 million tourist arrivals in the first nine months this year, a year-on-year rise of 14.7%, 86.7% of the year’s plan, reported the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Of this, foreign tourist arrivals reached 95.800, up 29.2% over a year earlier. Total tourism revenue was estimated at VND4.63 trillion, up 25.6% against the same period last year, 89.6% of the year’s plan.
During the period, Sam Son town welcomed over 3.5 million tourist arrivals, grossing a turnover of VND1.93 trillion.
Over the past nine months, together with intensifying tourism management in combination with improving the quality of services, Thanh Hoa organized an array of activities in the framework of 2015 National Tourism year such as Japanese Culture Days, the opening ceremony of the national tourism year and Thanh Hoa Sea Festival.
