(TITC) - To West Lake (Ha Noi), visitors can admire the charming scenery and have the opportunity to join Stand Up Paddle (SUP) boarding – a water sport originated from Hawaii and imported into Viet Nam for about 3 years.
SUP boat is a board made of wood, mica or rubber. But in Viet Nam, it is made of synthetic plastic with high elasticity equipped with an inflatable hole on its above side, a removable steering wheel and a safety cable on the back. The 3.5m – 4m-long boat is enclosed a 2m-long paddle and a lifejacket.
To play this sport, players must to pump the boat according to the signal of piezometre in the pump; then wear the lifejacket and fasten the safety cable on their foot. When rowing the boat, first players should sit, then kneel and stand gradually. Due to the lifejacket and safety cable, players are safe when falling the water.
SUP is similar to canoing or kayaking but it is easier to practice. Players can stand, sit, kneel and play freely on the boat as well as participate in group games.
The ideal time for SUP is the late afternoon. Currently, Umove SUP Club provides SUP boat service every Saturdays and Sundays with the price of VND120,000/2 hours for club members and VND200,000/2 hours for visitors.
