The Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines held a seminar on December 14 in Hong Kong (China) to promote Viet Nam’s tourism industry in the territory.

The event drew the participation of representatives from 35 local businesses operating in the field, including Hong Thai Travel, Wing On Travel and Zuji.com.

According to Deputy Director of VNAT Ha Van Sieu, Hong Kong is one of the biggest transit destinations and tourism centres in the region.

In recent years, Viet Nam has seen an increasing number of foreign tourists, including not only those from Hong Kong, but also from other countries traveling to Viet Nam via the territory, he added.

The VNAT leader also introduced a number of policies to attract tourists, including regulations on visa exemptions aimed at making it easier for foreign tourists to visit the country.

Representatives from Vietnam Airlines spoke of the airline’s fleet and flight routes, as well as its services and promotions for customers from Hong Kong to Viet Nam.

A number of Viet Nam’s top tourist destinations and products were also presented at the event.
