A festival honouring UNESCO-recognised heritages of Viet Nam was held in Thanh Hoa province on December 15 under the theme ‘Heritages throughout the Land’.
The event brought together seven art troupes from seven cities and provinces which possess heritages that have been granted UNESCO recognition, including Ha Noi (Ca Tru – ceremonial singing), Thua Thien – Hue (Hue Royal court music), Bac Giang (Quan Ho – love duet singing), Phu Tho (Xoan – Spring singing), Kon Tum (Gong space culture), Nghe An (Vi-Giam folk music) and Thanh Hoa (Ho Dynasty Citadel).
The artists brought to the stage performances highlighting the signature features of their heritages as well as honouring the beauty of the country.
The festival was co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Thanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee as part of the National Tourism Year 2015.
The introduction of the heritages at the event created a cultural space connecting the unique cultures of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
The art troupes are scheduled to deliver free performances for locals in Vinh Loc and Tho Xuan districts, Thanh Hoa province on December 16 and 17.
