The awards ceremony for the photography contest themed ‘2015 National Tourism Year – Thanh Hoa’ was held on December 23 in the north central province of Thanh Hoa.
Seven months after launching, the contest’s organising board received more than 300 photos by nearly 40 photographers from around the country.
At the awards ceremony, one first, two second, three third and 10 consolation prizes were presented to the best entries.
Sixty-five of the most outstanding photos were selected to be displayed at an exhibition which officially kicked off on the same day.
The entries were divided into four main themes: the 2015 National Tourism Year; historical and cultural relic sites, landscapes and traditional festivals; traditional handicrafts and trade villages; and portraits of people.
Works submitted to the contest are unpublished photos reflecting activities during the Tourism Year, the beauty of world heritage sites in Vietnam as well as the land and people of Thanh Hoa province.
The closing ceremony of the 2015 National Tourism Year will be held on December 26 at Lam Son square in Thanh Hoa city.
The 2015 National Tourism Year, themed ‘Connecting World Heritages’, was officially launched in April and featured a wide variety of practical events that have significantly contributed to promoting the value of world heritages in Viet Nam as well as introducing cultural traditions of Viet Nam, particularly of Thanh Hoa province.
