(TITC) – In the framework of the press trip hosted by Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) for German journalists visiting Viet Nam from 10 - 15 December 2015, Deputy Director General of VNAT, Mr. Ngo Hoai Chung had a meeting with the delegation on December 13, in Ha Noi.
The delegation with 9 representatives of Germany’s leading media agencies had exciting experiences such as joining waterway tours in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre which is famous for coconut products; visiting attractions in Ho Chi Minh City namely the Notre-Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office and Ben Thanh Market; discovering the daily life of the Red Dzao Ethonic minority in Sa Pa, Lao Cai; exploring World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay.
The delegates appreciated the abundant natural resource, unique culture and hospitable people of Viet Nam. They also expressed their attention to tourism investment, safety and security for tourists and sustainable tourism in Viet Nam.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director General Ngo Hoai Chung emphasized the close relationship between Viet Nam and Germany in the past 40 years. Vietnamese community in Germany has become a bridge for culture, tourism exchange between the two countries.
As soon as Viet Nam offered visa waiver for citizens of UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy from July 1, 2015, VNAT focused on enhancing promotion activities in these tourist markets. Specifically, VNAT organized many fam trips, press trips and attended in tourism fairs in the countries, including the International Tourism Fair ITB Berlin 2015 in Germany.
Deputy Director General Ngo Hoai Chung affirmed that Viet Nam always thinks highly of ensuring security and safety at tourist destinations. In coming time, Viet Nam tourism sector will continue to attract more investment projects, create attractive tourism products as well as encourage airlines to launch more flights connecting the two countries.
He wished all delegates would be impressive with the trip and Viet Nam’s image - an attractive, friendly and safe country would be widely promoted to all people in Germany.
