Vietnam's FLC Group officially commenced construction of its resort complex in Ha Long city, the northern province of Quang Ninh on March 20.

The FLC Ha Long resort covers a total area of 224 hectares in Hong Ha ward in the middle of the city. The project has received a total investment of VND3.4 trillion (US$152.5 million).

The resort includes an 18-hole links golf course, a 1,300-seat international conference centre, a 600-room five-star hotel, a club, an amusement park, villas and a synchronous transport network.

The golf course is expected to be completed and put into operation sometime in 2016, while the whole project is scheduled to commence operations by next year.

Once it is inaugurated, the resort will significantly contribute to Quang Ninh province’s tourism sector, attracting more visitors to the province, particularly Ha Long Bay - one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.

In addition, the project will create more jobs for local people as well as promote socio-economic development in the province.
