(TITC) – From 27 June 2016, Turkish Airlines will start operating 5 direct flights per week between Ha Noi/Ho Chi Minh City and Istanbul (Turkey) with 279-seat Airbus A330/300 aircrafts. This is the first direct air route between Viet Nam and Turkey.

This information was officially announced by Turkish Airlines at the launching event held on 23 March 2016 in Ha Noi.
In his speech at the event, Mr. Akif Ayhan - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Viet Nam emphasized that Turkish Airlines’ operation of the flights will contribute to facilitating cultural exchange, economic development and tourism cooperation between Viet Nam and Turkey.
At the event, representatives of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and Turkish Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism promotion cooperation through e-marketing. Accordingly, VNAT and Turkish Airlines will coordinate to boost e-marketing activities to popularize Viet Nam tourism as an attractive destination in Southeast Asia; push luring more international tourists to Viet Nam; strengthen cooperation between public and private sectors and mobilize social resources for promotional activities.
