Experience community-based tourism and leisure on Vinh Thuc Island of Quang Ninh Province

(TITC) - Vinh Thuc Island has a total area of nearly 5,000ha, belonging to Vinh Thuc and Vinh Trung communes, Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh Province, from the mainland about 10km. This is the habitat of more than 700 households who live mainly on fishing and farming.

Vinh Thuc Island possesses many charming beaches, typically Dau Dong Beach in Vinh Thuc Commune and Ben Hen Beach in Vinh Trung Commune. The two beaches has gently sloping golden sand strip along with casuarina row... In particular, Dau Dong Beach has beautiful cliffs.

In addition to natural beauty, the island also owns Vinh Thuc Lighthouse Relic built in 1962. The lighthouse is 28m high, located at a height of 86m above the sea. Cylinder-shaped light tower is lit by solar energy. From the top of the lighthouse, visitors can enjoy panorama of Vinh Thuc Island.

In recent years, for developing economy and tourism, Vinh Thuc Island has been invested transport infrastructure, including the road from Van Gia Pier in Vinh Thuc Commune to the end of the island. This is the main road connecting villages and communes on the island each others. Local people have also invested means of transport for tourist such as electric cars, ships and boats… and develop homestay service. In early May 2016, Mong Cai City has officially put into operation of types of community-based tourism and leisure tourism in Vinh Thuc Island.

Coming to Vinh Thuc Island, besides sea bathing, leisure, discovering natural scenery, learning about the history of the lighthouse, visitors can also experience fishing activities with local people.

From Mui Ngoc Wharf in Binh Ngoc Ward, Mong Cai City, taking motor boat about 10 minutes, visitors will arrive in Vinh Thuc Island.
