Budget carrier Vietjet Air on December 12 launched the Hai Phong - Seoul route by welcoming the first flight at Cat Bi International Airport.
The new route is to meet the travel demand of people and tourists between two localities, contributing to promoting trade and integration in the region, said a Vietjet representative.
The Hai Phong - Seoul route offers flights on every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday with flight time of one hour 50 minutes per leg.
The flight takes off from Hai Phong at 23:45 and arrives at Seoul at 06:00 (local time). The return flight departs at 07:15 (local time) and lands in Hai Phong at 10:40.
Flight frequency will be increased from January 19, 2017 to February 13, 2017, serving Viet Nam’s lunar new year holiday.
The same day, the new route linking Ho Chi Minh City to Kaohsiung (Taiwan, China) was launched with five return flights a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
The flight, which lasts 3 hours 30 minutes per leg, departs from Ho Chi Minh City at 02:10 and lands in Kaohsiung at 06:30 (local time). The return flight takes off at 08:15 and lands in Ho Chi Minh City at 10:45 (local time).
