Foreign tourists staying overnight at Ha Noi reached an estimated 248,000 in July, a 6.7% rise from the previous month and a 16.2% increase over a year earlier.
Of this, foreigners coming the capital by air were 226,000, up 6.8% from a month earlier and 17.7% year on year, while those travelling by sea and road were 22,000, up 5.1% and 2.6%.
This month, the city served 821,000 domestic tourists, a month-on-month rise of 0.3% and a year-on-year increase of 3.7%. Tourism turnover was estimated at VND4.970 trillion, up 0.9% from the previous month and up 12% over a year earlier.
Totaling the first seven months of the year, the city greeted more than 1.98 million foreign tourists, up 16.8% year on year, in which foreigners visiting the city for recreation reached over 1.65 million, up 16.7%, and those coming for business were 287,000, up 30.8%.
The number of domestic tourists to Ha Noi during the period reached more than 5.7 million, a year-on-year rise of 4.9%.
Tourism revenue in the seven months posted VND34.732 trillion, up 8.2%.
