Vietnam Airlines will increase its flights to 832 on Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City-Da Nang routes to meet people’s travel demand during the coming Lunar New Year Festival.
According to Vietnam Airlines spokesman, Trinh Ngoc Thanh, from January 10, 2009 to February 9, 2009, the airlines will provide 430 flights between Hanoi and HCM City with a total of 110,000 seats. The earliest flight will be at 5 am from HCM City and the latest flight at 11 pm from Hanoi.
The number of flights between HCM City and Da Nang will increase to 402, with a total of 73,000 seats. The earliest flight will be at 5.30 am from HCM City and the latest flight at 11.45 pm from Da Nang.
Vietnam Airlines will also raise its cargo handling capacity during the Lunar New Year festival by 53 - 97 percent on the Hanoi-HCM City route and by 117 - 200 percent on the HCM City-Da Nang route.
