Ha Noi opens two more pedestrian streets

From October 13th, Ha Noi Department of Transportation has adjusted transportation in several areas around Hoan Kiem Lake to better maintain pedestrian street space during weekends and meet people’s demand for walking.

Accordingly, from 19:00 to 24:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all means of transport are forbidden on Hang Gai and Cau Go streets (from Luong Van Can street to Dinh Liet street).

On Hang Bai street, cars are prohibited from Ly Thuong Kiet street to Hai Ba Trung street; and taxis are banned from Tran Hung Dao street to Ly Thuong Kiet street.

At present, walking area in Ha Noi consists of the whole or part of Dinh Tien Hoang, Hang Khay, Le Thai To, Le Lai, Le Thach, Tran Nguyen Han, Dinh Le, Nguyen Xi, Trang Tien, Lo Su, Hang Dau, Hoan Kiem, Luong Van Can, Hang Bai and Bao Khanh streets.

According to People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District, about 3,000 to 5,000 people go to pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem lake during daytime and about 15,000 to 20,000 people in the evening.
