The number of tourists to Ha Noi reached an estimated 19.81 million in the first ten months of 2017, a year-on-year rise of 10%, according to the city Department of Tourism.
Of this, foreign tourists were estimated at 3.99 million, up 26% over a year earlier, and domestic tourists were over 15.82 million, up 7%; grossing a revenue of VND58.65 trillion, up 16%.
According to statistics, the city saw rapid growth in number of travellers to famous spots and destinations in the ten months, including the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam), Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology, Huong Pagoda and Co Loa relic.
Some destinations seeing slight reduction in tourist numbers were Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, Ao Vua tourism area and Ba Vi National Park.
