Nearly 10.5 million int’l visitor arrivals to Viet Nam in 10 months

(TITC) - In October 2017, Viet Nam received 1,024,899 international visitor arrivals, up 5.0% over last month and 24.7% compared to the same period last year, the General Statistic Office reported.

That figure added to the total number of international visitors to Viet Nam in 10 months of this year of 10,473,230 arrivals, up 28.1% over the same period of 2016, exceeding the total number of 2016 (10,012,735 int’l arrivals).

Of which, the international visitors travelling by air reached 8,877,100 arrivals (+31.0%); by sea: 204,707 arrivals (-8.1%); by road: 1.391.423 arrivals (+18.0%).

In comparison with the same period last year, almost tourist markets recorded positive growth. In particular, Northeast Asian markets saw a strong increase including Republic of Korea (+53.9%), China (+45.6%), Hong Kong (+37.1%), Taiwan (+21.1%). Many European markets recorded two-digit growth rate such as Russia (+38.3%), Spain (+20.6%), Sweden (+17.5%), Finland (+15.2%), Germany (+13.7%), Holland (+12.7%), Italy (+12.3%), UK (+11.8). In addition, African and Oceanian markets continued to went up 28,5% and 13,3%, respectively.

The number of domestic trippers in 10 months estimated 63.1 million; total tourism receipts reached VND 417,400 billion, up 25.9% over the same period of 2016, according to Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism.
