Invested by Tuan Chau Group, the art show entitled “The quintessence of Tonkin” aims to introduce to domestic visitors and international friends the long-standing traditional culture of Northern Viet Nam. The art show also brings audience back to the Vietnamese rural life in old days from the view of contemporary art. The stage is built on a land area of ​​about 19,000m² and the lake surface of more than 4,000m². The art show is the combination of modern art techniques and folk materials, whereby, the special culture and art values of the North are reproduced vividly and closely.

60-minute show of “The quintessence of Tonkin” is a diversified picture gathering the cultural quintessence of the Northern Delta, which offers audience special experience thanks to performance of contemporary art. With the support of modern sound, illumination and technology system, the show gives audience the chance to understand more the Northern folk cultural properties such as ca tru singing, quan ho singing, hau dong (mediumship ritual), Dong Ho painting, etc.

Not only opening up the cultural space of Northern Delta, the show also introduces audience the best of water puppetry art with the story of Venerable Monk Tu Dao Hanh and the history of the ancient Thang Long Citadel. Especially, most of actors and actresses in the art show are local farmers of Sai Son – Thay Pagoda land, contributing to bringing audience the most honest and soulful view.

Before enjoying the art show, visitors can visit some adjacent tourist sites such as Thay Pagoda, Tay Phuong Pagoda, Duong Lam Ancient Village, etc.
