In 2017, Hoi An city in the central coastal province of Quang Nam greeted 3.22 million tourists, the highest number up to this time, according to its People’s Council.

As reported, the figure is 21.66% higher than the same period last year, in which foreign tourists were 1.78 million and the city provided services to 1.44 million domestic visitors.
Meanwhile, 2.38 million travellers visited Hoi An ancient town, up 28.16%, and more than 400,000 toured to Cu Lao Cham. Total tourists staying overnight were 1.45 million with room occupancy rate of 51%.
The central city has 94 accommodation establishments in 2017 with 1,471 rooms put into use, raising the total accommodation establishments to 527 with 9,040 rooms.
This year, Hoi An hosted many national and international cultural and tourism events such as the light festival, Korean cultural days, Hoi An International Marathon and a series of activities under the framework of the 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival.
