Hong Kong’s Royal Group will bring its five-star cruise ship, Jupiter Cruises, to Vietnam to explore the Phu Quoc – Shihanouk Ville tourist route. This service will be available before Christmas this year.
This will be the first five-star cruise service for Phu Quoc, a joint-service offered by Royal Group and Vietnam’s Sea Star Corporation.
Jupiter conducted trial trips as of November 2, 2008. Service providers have not announced official fares for the tour, nor a detailed schedule.
The ship, Jupiter Cruises, has nine stories, is 178m long, 22m wide, and weighs 21 tons. It can serve 1,000 passengers at once, offering various luxuries, such as conference rooms, restaurants, bars, karaoke, shopping malls, beauty and entertainment services.
The Sea Star Corp and Royal Group plan to build a tourism port in Phu Quoc. Currently, as Phu Quoc Island is quite neglected, Jupiter Cruises will have to anchor in Duong Dong, around 2 km offshore of Phu Quoc.
