The Wild Sunflower - Chu Dang Ya Volcano Week 2024 will be held from November 6 to 12 in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai, with many unique cultural, sports and artistic activities.
This event aims to promote the area's natural beauty and local cultural identity, while also aiming to attract investment and develop sustainable tourism.
The festival will officially open on the morning of November 8 at the communal house yard of Ia Gri village, Chu Dang Ya commune. It will be highlighted by the ceremony to receive the Vietnam Record for the Gong performance with the largest number of participants.
Other attractive activities will include the competition to conquer the peak of Chu Dang Ya volcano, folk art and traditional costume performances, hot air balloon releases, and the 2024 Half Marathon with the theme “Awakening the Chu Pah countryside - Journey connecting Mountains and Flowers”.
The activities will take place at many locations such as Nghia Hung commune, Bien Ho and Chu Pah area, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the scenery of Gia Lai and learn about the culture of the Central Highlands.
The week promises to bring unique experiences, contributing to the preservation of traditional culture and promoting local economic development.
Through the week, Gia Lai continues to introduce the image of Wild Sunflower associated with Chu Dang Ya Volcano, which has been voted by the Vietnam Record Organization (Vietkings) as one of the Top 10 most attractive destinations in Gia Lai. In particular, Chu Dang Ya was recognized as one of the 10 most beautiful volcanic craters in the world in 2018./.
