Foreigners arriving to Da Nang by air rise 77.7% during upcoming holiday

Da Nang expects to greet 342,992 tourist arrivals during the national holiday from April 28th to May 1st, a year-on-year rise of 10.2%, reported the city Department of Tourism.

Of this, number of foreign tourists is forecast to reach nearly 109,000, up 28.8% over a year earlier.

The holiday will concur with the opening of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) with special art programs and a wide range of auxiliary activities so a great number of tourists will flock to the central hub, with the majority of them coming from the Republic of Korea, China and Japan through direct flights.

On this occasion, travel agencies such as Vietravel, Vitours, Saigontourist, and Vietnam Travelmart have launched numerous tour programs in combination with DIFF, including Da Nang – Ba Na – Son Tra – Hoi An – Da Nang, Hue – La Vang – Phong Nha and Thien Duong caves – Ba Na – Hoi An – Da Nang – DIFF, and the central heritages itinerary.  

According to the department, on April 30th and May 1st, the number of foreign tourists coming Da Nang by air is estimated to reach 27,450, up 77.7% over a year earlier.  

So far this year, the city has seen 183 flights put into use, up 76 compared to the same period last year. In addition, a regular international direct air route from Osaka to Da Nang operated by Jetstar Pacific, and existing routes connecting the city to Bangkok by Air Asia, to Incheon by Vietjet Air and Eastar Jet, and to Busan by T’way, contributed to increasing the number of foreigners.
