Conference introduces RoK tourism in Nghe An

A conference was held in the central province of Nghe An on May 18 to introduce the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s tourism and air routes to the RoK, drawing representatives of over 40 travel firms from Nghe An and neighbouring Ha Tinh province.  


Overview of the conference

The event, jointly held by the RoK Tourism Organisation in Viet Nam and the Department of Tourism of the central province of Nghe An, aimed to provide information of diverse tourism services and products suitable to the demand of local customers.

In the recent two years, thousands of Nghe An tourists have chosen the RoK to travel. This year, a cooperation programme will be held from June to December between the RoK and the Viet Nam Society of Travel in Nghe An with the supply of various tourism products.

According to the RoK Tourism Organisation in Viet Nam, in 2017, the Eastern Asian country welcomed about 330,000 Vietnamese tourists.

Meanwhile, Viet Nam served more than 2 million Korean visitors in the year, a surge of 56.4 percent year-on-year. In January this year, 316,300 Korean tourists visited Viet Nam, a year-on-year jump of 84 percent.

Currently, there are more than 112,200 Vietnamese people living in the Republic of Korea, while about 150,000 Koreans are living in Viet Nam.
