Update: Jan 06, 2009
Ben Thanh Tourist introduces a special tour to enjoy the Lunar New Year in ancient cities. A package tour of five days and four nights takes tourists to enjoy the spring in Hoi An, Danang and Hue.

The atmosphere of Tet (Lunar New Year) in the ancient capital of Hue is not as energetic as in other big cities like HCMC or Hanoi. However, tourists are still able to have a happy Vietnamese Tet package through festivals and the magnificent beauty of a variety of colorful flowers. The Perfume River is animated during Tet holidays with cultural activities of boat racing converging famous rowers of waterway regions.

Departing from HCMC, tourists visit Hoi An via Danang. If the tour is on a weekend, tourists will witness an especially beautiful scene in which Hoi An is bathed in the light of hundreds of colorful lanterns in all shapes and sizes. Tourists can dine and enjoy local specialties in restaurants along the Hoai River banks.

About 45km from Hoi An is My Son Sanctuary which was built from the 4th to the late 13th centuries. This is the most important holy land of the Cham people, a complex of religious ruins of more than 70 sculptural and architectural remains under the influence of Indian style, including temples and towers representing the identity of each historical period of Champa kingdom. Back in Hoi An City, tourists visit Ong Pagoda, Cau Pagoda and Phuoc Kien Assembly Hall. The tour continues with a visit to Cua Dai Beach, one of the finest beaches in the central region. Tourists also visit a typical old house in Hoi An.

From Hoi An, the tour moves on to Danang to visit Ngu Hanh Mountains, with five mountains named metal, wood, water, fire and earth; Linh Ung Pagoda, Tang Chon and Hoa Nghiem caves, and Non Nuoc stone village. On the way to Son Tra Peninsula, tourists contemplate My Khe Beach and Tien Sa Port.

The tour then departs for Hue on the coastal road leading to Hai Van Pass. From the top of Hai Van Pass, visitors can take in the landscapes. Tourists also visit Lang Co fishing village and ride through the Hai Van Tunnel.

On arrival in Hue, tourists visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the Royal Citadel and palaces of the Nguyen Dynasty, and enjoy Hue court music which has been recognized as an intangible heritage by UNESCO. In Hue, tourists should not miss the mysterious and valuable architecture of the mausoleums of the Nguyen Kings such as Tu Duc and Khai Dinh tombs. Cruising on the Perfume River, tourists can have a look at Trang Tien Bridge, drop flower garlands and colored lanterns and listen to folksongs of Hue.

Before transferring to the airport for a flight to HCMC, tourists visit Dong Ba Market, the biggest market in Thua Thien-Hue Province.

On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, the Year of the Buffalo, Ben Thanh Tourist has launched many tours to celebrate Tet such as Hanoi-Halong, Nha Trang-Dalat and Phan ThietPhu Quoc. Outbound tours are also included at this time such as tours to experience Europe, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
