The Tra Vinh provincial People’s Committee has issued Decision 918 QD-UBND realizing the plan of developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector for the 2018-2020 period, with an orientation to 2030.

Deputy Chairman of the provincial People Committee Tran Anh Dung said that the goal of developing Tra Vinh tourism is based on investment socialization. In addition, the locality will mobilize capital from other sources to build technical infrastructure, train skilled human resources, support private economic components and the collective economy in developing tourism products and types to meet the demand of tourists.
Tra Vinh now has 10 historical relic and architectural sites, national intangible cultural heritage and one national treasure, along with 142 Khmer pagodas with unique ancient architecture in 9 districts, towns and city in the province.
With its potential and advantages for tourism development, the province now calls on investment incentives in some projects such as Ba Om Pond national tourist site, hot mineral springs, mangrove forest tourism area, Ba Dong tourism area, restaurants, hotels, and handicraft producing establishments.
It strives to greet nearly 1.4 million tourists by 2020, 2.5 million by 2025 and 3.6 million by 2030. Total tourism turnover from 2025 will reach over VND1.6 trillion.
