Chairman of the People’s Committee handed over Ly Son district People’s Committee to host and coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to research and propose suitable policies to boost sustainable tourism development under the approved scheme.
Being the unique island district of Quang Ngai, Ly Son covers about 10 km2 (including the communes of An Vinh, An Hai and An Binh) with a population of nearly 22,000.
Thanks to natural tectonics, it is home to many famous landscapes such as Hang pagoda, Duc pagoda, Cau cave, To Vo gate, and Mu Cu rock.
In addition, Ly Son is considered a biodiverse marine area with typical ecosystems such as coral reefs and seagrass cover, which is listed among 25 rare aquicolous species at risk.
Ly Son now preserves many traces of prehistoric people 300 thousand years ago on the peak of Gieng Tien and Thoi Loi mountains. Experiencing thousands years of formation and development, Ly Son has become a living museum of different cultures, in which Vietnamese culture is the core.
The island district also has many famous festivals such as An Hai communal house festival in Thien Y A Na palace, mausoleums and temples worshipping Nam Hai and Bach Ma gods, and traditional boat racing festival.
