The 34th Meeting of ASEAN+3 National Tourism Organisations

(TITC) - On 16 January 2019, in Ha Long, Quang Ninh, the 34th Meeting of ASEAN - China, Japan and Republic of Korea (ASEAN+3) National Tourism Organisations opened within the framework of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2019.  

Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh – Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism recognized that the tourism cooperation between ASEAN member states and three partner countries has been focused and further prioritized. This has significantly contributed to the growth of ASEAN tourism. ASEAN destination as a whole is promoting its great potential of tourism investment to the three partner countries. He expressed his hope that ASEAN+3 would continue to boost tourism cooperation in the coming time.

At the meeting, the delegates reviewed outcomes of tourism cooperation between ASEAN and China, Japan, RoK at the 21st ASEAN+3 Summit and relevant Plus One Summits held on 14 and 15 November 2018 in Singapore.

At the same time, representatives of China, Japan and RoK also updated cooperation activities with ASEAN as Plan of Action to Implement the Joint Declaration on ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity (2016-2020), Vision Statement on ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation and its Implementation Plan, Plan of Action to Implement the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity (2016-2020).

Implementing tourism cooperation for the period 2018-2020, ASEAN and the 3 partner countries have focused on key activities such as promoting the development of quality tourism, promoting tourism knowledge and skill development, developing cruise tourism, crisis communication mechanism, visa facilitation among ASEAN+3 countries…
