VNAT promotes business connections and prepares to restore international market

(TITC) - On May 14, 2020, in Hanoi, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) held a meeting with inbound tour operators to discuss on restoring international tourist markets.

Attending the meeting were VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc, leaders of Tourism Marketing Department, Travel Management Department, Hotel Management Department (VNAT).

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu said that, after the Covid-19 was contained in Vietnam, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recently launched the program "Vietnamese people to travel Vietnam" to stimulate domestic tourism.

Regarding inbound tourism, Vietnam is ready to promote tourism internationally, receive and serve international visitors with good quality service and safe environment. Vice Chairman  Ha Van Sieu hoped that the meeting will be a bridge connecting the VNAT and inbound tour operator, discussing about directions and plans to restore the inbound tourism market at the appropriate time.

According to Mr. Dinh Ngoc Duc - Director of Tourism Marketing Department, in the current situation, Vietnam tourism is strengthening communicational activities about the safety of Vietnam. "#VietnamNOW" is a media campaign aiming at international visitors, introducing world-class tourism products, providing a new perspective of Vietnam for tourists. “Stay home with Vietnam” is also a campaign communicating with international visitors on online platform while the world is engaging in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.

In addition, VNAT has planned to implement activities at the appropriate time such as: communicating about a safe Vietnam as well as the success of Vietnam containing the epidemic; promoting tourism via CNN, LED screen in South Korea, social network in China...; organizing online tourism promotions to oversea markets, updating information about Vietnam tourism and aviation to international travel businesses and tourists; attending international tourism fairs, organizing roadshow to promote tourism, organizing famtrips to explore Vietnam tourism...

At the meeting, inbound businesses updated the situation of exploiting international tourists in key markets such as Western Europe, Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, India, America, Australia... Considering the outbreak of Covid-19 disease in the world, the businesses agreed that promoting safe Vietnam tourism is a good action. At the same time, it is also a chance for localities, hotels and resorts, tourist destinations to upgrade service facilities in order to meet the tourists demands.

The participants also recommended VNAT to support travel businesses by proposing transport companies to offer discounts of transportation tickets and addmission fee reduction at local tourist destinations.

Regarding promotional activities, it is necessary to raise the competitiveness of Vietnam tourism in the region, locate target audience  and develop target products and service to stimulate demand. According to the businesses, this is a golden time to promote Vietnam tourism thanks to the safe environment. They also proposed to strengthen the promotion of Vietnam tourism on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube ...

Director of Tourism Marketing Department Dinh Ngoc Duc affirmed that VNAT always supports tourism businesses, particularly in such difficult time. In addition, VNAT will update information to the businesses on action plans so that they are able to participate in, aiming at restoring international tourist market in the coming time.
