VietJet to reopen Da Nang - Bangkok air route from March 27
Update: Mar 04, 2022
Low-cost carrier Thai VietJet, a member of VietJet Air, unveiled on March 2 that it will resume a direct air route connecting Vietnam’s Da Nang city with Thailand’s Bangkok capital at Suvarnabhumi airport as of March 27.

The airline will operate three round-trip flights per week every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday in the initial phase, and will later increase the frequency of flights depending on market demand.

Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, president of Thai VietJet, said the carrier, has committed to accelerating the recovery of international tourism in the fastest time possible, adding that it will continue to launch additional air routes between both countries in the near future.

At present, VietJet is the airline which has put on most flights between Vietnam and Thailand, with six flights per week on the Ho Chi Minh City–Bangkok route alone.

This month Thai VietJet is due to launch a new route connecting the Thai capital of Bangkok and the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh, along with several other routes in the region.

VietJet is anticipated to reopen all international routes and launch more routes to markets such as India and Australia as it seeks to promptly meet the demand among tourists in the Asia-Pacific region.

As of March 1, visitors arriving in Thailand only need to conduct a RT-PCR test on the first day and are able to purchase COVID-19 insurance valued at US$20,000.

Meanwhile, international passengers arriving in Vietnam from March 15 only need to have ATK/RT-PCR test on the first day and to buy COVID-19 insurance worth US$10,000.
