An online multi-choice contest on Hanoi’s historical milestones and its cultural heritages, organised for foreigners and overseas Vietnamese, was launched on May 18.
This is just one of a series of contests which are being held between 2000 and 2010, with a different topic each year, to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of the capital city of Hanoi.
Representatives from the embassies of Cuba, Australia, Cambodia, Laos, Russia, the Ukraine, Malaysia, the Philippines and the UK were joined at the launching ceremony by a large number of overseas students who are currently studying in Vietnam
This year’s contest, entitled “Hanoi – Your rendezvous in 2009-2010â€, includes seven multi-choice questions. Contestants are being encouraged to voice their opinions and suggest measures that would help to preserve and uphold the city’s historical and cultural values.
Entries can be written in one of the six following languages: Vietnamese, English, Russian, Chinese, French and Esperanto.
