A conference was held in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre on March 11 to review the results of a programme on socio-economic cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, during which a cooperative agreement until 2025 was signed.
Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta signed a cooperative agreement at the conference.
The conference aimed to create a breakthrough for the economy of each locality, opening new opportunities for localities in the region to attract projects from investors in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, the event also created conditions for effective cooperation and implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No.13 on the direction of socio-economic development and assurance of national defence and security in the Mekong Delta to 2030, with a vision to 2045, thus contributing to exploiting and promoting the efficiency, potential and advantages of each locality in the region while promoting rapid and sustainable socio-economic development in line with the national socio-economic development strategy.
At the conference, Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta signed a cooperative agreement in many fields, including development of transport infrastructure, tourism, supply-demand connection, investment-trade promotion, cooperation in adaptation to climate change, science and technology development, digital transformation, education, health, and human resource training.
