Da Nang and its neighbour Quang Nam Province are mulling over the deployment of cooperation projects in the coming time, especially in development planning and orientations, traffic linkages.

Among the potential projects that are being taken into account are the opening of waterway traffic services on the Da Nang - Hoi An route after the Co Co river project is dredged, as well as the operation of an inland waterway tourism route that links Da Nang with Cu Lao Cham (Cham Island) off Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province.
Other key cooperation projects will include the expressway CT21 which runs through Da Nang, Thanh My, Bo Y border gate in Kon Tum Province in the direction of considering using the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway to limit ground clearance and routes connecting from Quang Nam Province’s Nam Giang international border gate to Da Nang.
Also outstandingly, heed will be paid to making joint research, preparing investment preparation and seeking capital to implement the mass rapid transit (MRT) and light rail transit (LRT) lines connecting the two localities.
This project’s feasibility study report is slated to reach completion by 2024 while construction work will commence in the 2025 - 2030 period.
The two localities will advise the national government to soon invest in expanding and upgrading national highways 14G, 14B and 14D in the 2021 - 2025 period; especially roads according to the directions given by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 6, 2022.
