The central coastal province of Phu Yen boasts a number of breath-taking islands, most notably Hon Yen (Swiftlet Islet), a site which attracts a lot of visitors.
Hon Yen can be found in An Hoa commune of Tuy An district and is situated about 30km north of Tuy Hoa city in Phu Yen province.
The name Hon Yen derives from the fact that it used to be the nesting place of flocks of swiftlets.
Swiftlet Islet is an ideal destination in which to explore coral reefs, which are often unveiled at low tide.
The landscape cluster of Hon Yen, with coral reefs being the highlight, was recognised as a national relic site in April, 2018, due to its geological, cultural, historical, and floral diversity.
Local fishermen go out fishing for anchovies and shellfish.
