Vietnam is becoming one of the hottest tourist spots for Australian visitors this winter, said Julie Stewart, Manager of Highpoint Flight Centre.
The Heraldsun Newspaper on June 26 quoted Ms Stewart as saying that "Vietnam is also a bit of a hot spot at the moment. I think people who have travelled previously to Bali and Thailand are looking for something similar but different," Ms Stewart said.
However, the number of visitors travelling to Bali Island, Indonesia, increased sharply despite the Australian Government’s warning about the high threat of terrorism on the island.
Along with Vietnam and Bali, the Fiji Island in the South Pacific Ocean and Thailand are also great destinations for many families in Australia this winter.
"I think people want to stick close to home, and they're looking for value for money, and obviously Melburnians are looking for a warmer climate," Ms Stewart said.
Apart from the above destinations, Australian visitors want to go to the US to fulfill their dream of visiting Disneyland, taking advantage of cheap airfares, down by up to 45% last year.
