Hanoi, Guangxi youths speed up cooperation
Update: Jul 30, 2009
The Youth Unions of Hanoi and China’s Guangxi Province have agreed to speed up cooperation on the promotion of rail tourism.

A memorandum of understanding on cooperation for the 2009-2012 period between Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) in Hanoi and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region’s Communist Youth Union was signed in Hanoi on July 29.

The two sides agreed to exchange experiences in organising youth activities, facilitate young businessmen’s cooperation, intensify cultural and tourism cooperation, and assist Vietnamese and Chinese students studying in Guangxi and Hanoi.

They also agreed to conduct annual visits and exchanges, and to help youth organisations to cooperate in various other fields.

Also on July 29, a musical gala was held as part of the two unions’ five-day friendship exchange programme, beginning on July 26.

The programme, which will last through July 30, draws the participation of 138 Guangxi delegates. It aims to respond to the “Vietnam-China Friendship Year - 2010”, the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the two countries’ diplomatic ties and the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
