Binh Thuan to bustle in culture and sports events
Update: Aug 19, 2009
Authorities of the central province of Binh Thuan will host a culture, sports and tourism festival called “Binh Thuan-Southern Colors” in Phan Thiet City from August 22 to 24.

The festival aims to showcase the tourism potential of the province with the participation of representatives from Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan provinces and HCMC.

Binh Thuan culture will be exposed via exhibitions of Phi Long sand paintings, Nhat Chi Lan ceramics and a culinary fair which will include authentic local specialties such as once-dried squid (more delicious than twice-dried squid), dragon fruit, griddle cakes and fish sauces.

The event will coincide with the 40th anniversary of the passing of Uncle Ho, so the HCMC Museum’s branch in Binh Thuan will display 100 photos of the late Vietnamese President along with many of the documented achievements of the province over the last 40 years.

Also in the province, the national Taekwondo Tournament 2009 will take place from August 23 to 31, with over 400 athletes from cities and provinces nationwide.
