Vung Tau beach hosts exhibition
Update: Aug 27, 2009
More than 30 French and Vietnamese artists have their works on display at an installation art exhibition with theme Bien Bo which opened at the Ho Tram Beach Resort in Ba Ria Vung Tau Province on August 23.

Bien Bo also features paintings, sculpture, and ceramics by popular artists like Bui Hai Son, Le Trieu Dien, and Nguyen Than.

Art works, especially ceramics, are placed beside dead trees and coracles which create a stark environment.

“These works remind us of our roots,” said Nguyen Van Thom, a resident of the province’s Xuyen Moc District.
They reflect the genius of ancestors who turned dust into wonderful art-works, he added.

The exhibition aims to bring art to people and celebrate the vitality of Vietnamese art in a joyful and relaxing environment, said Cao Lap, director of the Ho Tram Beach Resort, the organiser of the HCM City Fine Arts Association.
Bien Bo will be on display until August 31.
