Update: Jan 21, 2010
An ancient stone altar belonging to the Cham ethnic group from Vietnam’s central province of Thua Thien Hue will be exhibited in a New York Museum in the US, from February 2-May 2.

The Thua Thien Hue Museum of History and Revolution said that the Van Trach Hoa altar is amongst 114 ancient objects selected by the Asia Society in the US from 10 prominent museums across Vietnam for the three-month exhibition.

The altar was discovered in 1991 at the Van Trach Hoa historical site in Phong Thu Commune, Phong Dien District and is decorated with Hindu carvings. It is believed to date back to the ninth or tenth century.
