A competition for tour guides in Hanoi has been launched to find outstanding tour guides before the millennium anniversary in the capital.
Professional tour guides working in Hanoi and students who are studying tourism at Hanoi’s universities are encouraged to join the competition.
The contest aims to introduce tourists to destinations in Hanoi and to celebrate Hanoi's 1,000th anniversary, the 120th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the 35 years since the country was reunited and the 50 years since the tourism industry was founded, says Mai Tien Dung, Vice Director of Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
"This is a good chance for the tour guides to exchange, practise and upgrade their skills," says Dung.
The final round of the event will take place at Viet Phu Thanh Chuong in Soc Son District in Hanoi on July 9.
