More than 30 foreign art troupes have registered to take part in the grand ceremony to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
On the morning on October 10, there will be a huge parade followed by art performances, featuring the nation’s 4,000-year old. The show will cover periods - the Hoa Lu Royal Capital during the Dinh and Pre-Le dynasties, the Thang Long Royal Capital during Ly, Tran, Le and Quang Trung dynasties and contemporary Thang Long-Hanoi in the age of Ho Chi Minh.
Artists from Italy, France, the US, Spain, Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Singapore, the UK, the Republic of Korea, China, Rumania and Russia will give concerts, introduce international cuisine and hold exhibitions and trade promotions.
A wide range of activities, such as traditional folk games will take place at historical sites, pagodas, churches and communes in Hanoi. In addition many competitions have been launched, such as essays about the 1,000th years of Thang Long-Hanoi, and a “Studying and Following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example†campaign.
Eight out of 33 key projects have been completed and are up and running and 15 others will be finished before September 30, such as the ceramically decorated road along the Hong River, the Thanh Giong statue, a “Hanoi with 36 streets†TV game show, and two historic films.
