The Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced that a food and drink festival will take place in the West Lake Park from October 6-11 to mark the capital city's 1000th anniversary and the National Tourism Year 2010.
Department Vice Director, Truong Minh Tien said the festival is expected to welcome folk artists, food experts and representatives from travel services across the country and foreign diplomats.
Hanoi’s cultural and spiritual values will be popularized with domestic and international friends throughout the event, he said.
The festival is divided into three sections called the food and drinking space, the Hanoi cultural space and the national folk games space.
There will be about 130 stands displaying special foods and drinks from the Northern, the Central and the Southern parts of Vietnam that are symbolized by Dong Xuan, Dong Ba and Ben Thanh markets, respectively.
