Over 100 outstanding photos, which were selected from 2,890 entries to the 2012 Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards, went on display at an exhibition in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan province, on October 23.

Organised by the Vietnam Heritage Magazine in cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City's Heritage and Culture Association and Binh Thuan's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards contest drew the participation of 198 photographers from across the country.

The photos will help inform the public, both at home and overseas, of the necessity to protect the nation's heritages.

Apart from Phan Thiet, the exhibition will tour six other cities, including Nha Trang, Hoi An, Ha Long, Can Tho, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City .

The contest awards presentation ceremony will take place in HCM City on November 22.
