Intangible cultural heritage to be popularized in programme

The Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize a programme in Da Lat city, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, from January 22 - 26 to popularize Vietnam's intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO from 2003 to 2011.

The Central Highlands gongs, quan ho Bac Ninh folklore, Hue royal music and ca tru will be performed during the event. This is the first time these heritage are collected to perform for domestic and foreign audiences.

 

The event will draw the participation of artisans from provinces and cities home to the heritage, such as Hanoi, the northern province of Bac Ninh, the central provinces of Thua Thien - Hue, and the Central Highlands provinces of Lam Dong, Gia Lai and Kon Tum.

 

A conference to review five-year implementation of national action programme to preserve and restore values of the Central Highlands gongs, and cultural exchanges among artistic troupes will be held during the programme. In addition, ideas from researchers and experts on the preservation and promotion of heritage values will be collected.
