Phu My Hung Corp. will launch the six-day Flower Spring Fair 2013 at 6 p.m. on February 3 (the 23rd day of the lunar December) at The Crescent in District 7.
This year's theme is "Flowers of the countryside" with simple and rural decorations with the fair covering an area of 7ha, including Duong Xuan (spring street), Ben Xuan (spring harbor), Vuon Xuan (spring garden), Gop Xuan (spring contribution), food area, Tet specialties and ornaments. There is a children's playground and live performances staged at night.
A highlight of this year's fair is a space for over 200 recycling items from old sofas, tires, electric wires, ice-cream sticks and old monitors. Furthermore, there's a space called spring contribution where people of all ages can donate anything from a flower to a bonsai vase to make a beautiful garden. The organizer will grant a special prize worth VND15 million, a first prize of VND10 million, two second prizes of VND5 million each, three third prizes of VND3 million and consolation prizes worth VND500,000 each to those who contribute to the garden.
At the spring harbor visitors can admire the scene of wooden boats anchoring on the water, fishermen doing their daily activities and people trading business. Participants can also release flower garlands and colored lanterns into the river to pray for luck.
