Hanoi's calligraphy street opens for Tet celebration

Calligraphy artists and Confucian scholars are seen gathering on the street adjoining the Temple of to welcome Lunar New Year well-wishers.

They offer calligraphy works in both Chinese and Vietnamese characters for those who like to adorn their homes as gifts, with best wishes for prosperity and happiness in the upcoming Year of the Snake.

Special classes in the art of calligraphy are held, free of change for children.

The street will remain busy till the middle of the first lunar month (February 24), Year of the Snake.
