An Giang's rice fields rival northern rivals
Update: Mar 26, 2013
People often talk in admiring terms about the northwest region's beautiful terraced rice fields, but not so many people know that An Giang Province is also blessed with such beauty.

We came to Ta Pa Hill in Tri Ton District one sunny afternoon to look at some beautifully-primitive hills. Despite the fact it was a sunny day, we still felt cool due to winds blowing from the peaks, easing our tiredness after a long journey.

And we totally recovered when we reached the wonderful Ta Pa Lake. The manmade lake came about 10 years ago by rock exploiting, and the lake and its surroundings are poetic due to the green beauty.

Around the lake area are scattered many rock polls in diverse and weird shapes, arousing our curiosity to think of many images like a sword, a lonely guy waiting for his girlfriend or a monk in meditation.

On the top of the hill, we could see the immense rice fields lying gently under the foot of imposing Ta Pa Mountain. Not as beautiful as terraced rice fields like in Ha Giang, Yen Bai or Lao Cai provinces, however, the rice fields in Ta Pa are splendid enough for visitors to feel peaceful, tranquil and forget daily stresses with white clouds hovering on the blue sky, some smoke appearing amidst the greenness of rice plants. It was just heaven.
