(TITC) - According to statistics of Quang Nam's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in May 2013, total arrivals reached 242,000, increasing by 15.59% over the same period of 2012; of which, international arrivals were 114,000, increasing by 13.79%; domestic arrivals were 128,000, increasing by 18.32%; total tourism receipts reached VND 110 billion, up 22.22% over the same period of 2012.
Tourist arrivals in the first 5 months of 2013 to Quang Nam estimated 1,262,371 arrivals, increasing by 9.75% over the same period last year, of which international arrivals were 767,298, increasing by 6.13%; domestic arrivals were 495,073, increasing by 6.13%; total tourism receipts reached VND 625 billion, up 13.39% over the same period last year.
In tourism field, Quang Nam's Department Culture, Sports and Tourism prepared good conditions for participating in the Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA); coordinated with the VNAT assessing 3-5 stars hotels in the province; coordinated with the International Labour Organization (ILO) to publish tourism publications; planned to launch legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail tourism products.

The Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013 is a major activity in the province to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Convention on the protection of intangible cultural heritage to UNESCO, towards the ASEAN Community by 2015. Festival takes place from 21 to 26 June in Hoi An City, My Son Sanctuary, and several places in Quang Nam Province. The most important aim of organizing this festival is to share experiences of countries over the world, especially ASEAN countries on preservation and bringing into play heritage's values. The main activities are held in the Festival: Exhibition with the theme "Viet Nam - Asian Cultural Heritage Space"; the 3rd International Choir Festival; The final of the 3rd Miss Ethnic Viet Nam 2013.
