Sand sculpture contest takes place in Da Nang

A sand sculpture contest was held at Pham Van Dong beach in the central city of Da Nang on July 28 with the participation of 300 Vietnamese and foreigners from Japan, South Africa, the United State, Australia and New Zealand.

At the contest, organised by Silversun Event Limited Company, each of about 70 teams, including two to four people, was provided a 5m-long space for building their works on sand in four hours and then talked about them.


The team from the Da Nang Sculpture Foundation won the first prize with a work named "Smile in front of sea".

 
As part of the event, music performances, fashion shows and exhibitions of souvenirs and foods were also organsised.


The contest, the second of its kind in Vietnam, is expected to become a national-scale summer activity and one of the new and unique tourism products of coastal Da Nang city.
